BHEL Bags Order From Raipur Development Authority Worth INR 640 Million
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won an order for setting up six decentralised sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Valued at over INR 640 million, the order for the STPs with a cumulative capacity of 25.4 MLD (Million Liters per Day), has been placed on BHEL by Raipur Development Authority (an Urban Development Authority under the Government of Chhattisgarh). The project for construction of the decentralized STPs shall be based on Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) technology.
BHEL's scope of work in the contract broadly includes construction, testing and commissioning of six numbers STPs with Raw Sewage Pumping Station, Treated Sewage Effluent Pumping System, Biofilter, HT Substations, Transformers and control room building for PLC/SCADA based Automation System along with Operation & maintenance (O&M) for ten years.
BHEL has been in the water treatment business in the power as well as industrial segments and has set up several Water Treatment Plants, Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) based Desalination Plants, RO-DM Plants, Tertiary Treatment Plants and STPs as part of utility projects executed on EPC basis.
Leveraging the competencies developed over two decades, BHEL addresses the complete water management sector including the municipal segment, having commissioned and completed 10-year O&M of a 40 MLD STP for CMWSSB at Nasapakkam, Chennai. BHEL offers turnkey solutions to all segments of water management right from potable water applications to domestic sewage treatment.
