Union Minister Approved Two New Underpasses In Haryana
The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Jairam Gadkari has approved two new underpasses on the Gurugram-Sohna Road on the request of Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh. One of these underpasses will be made at Vatika Chowk while the second underpass will be made under the highway near village Islampur. For giving approval to the underpasses, Rao Narbir Singh has expressed gratitude to Mr. Gadkari.
Rao Narbir Singh said that in order to make the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) signal free in Gurugram, it is necessary to make underpasses there. There is huge traffic movement on that chowk and an elevated highway is being constructed from Subhash Chowk to the other side of village Badshahpur. There is no entry or exit point in the length of about 4.7 km. In such a situation, when the elevated highway will be ready in future, there will be heavy traffic pressure on the Vatika Chowk and there is possibility of traffic jams.
Rao Narbir Singh raised the proposal with Union Minister to make an underpass in front of Vatika chowk, which would be helpful in making the SPR signal free. Vehicles on the SPR will be able to pass under the highway from below the underpass without waiting. On the rewuest of Rao Narbir Singh, the Union Minister Mr. Nitin Jairam Gadkari approved his proposal.
Similarly, Rao Narbir Singh informed the Union Minister that there is no arrangement in the length of about 2 km from Rajiv Chowk to Subhash Chowk to cross the National Highway No. 248A for the people of Islampur village on Gurugram-Sohna Road. At present, there are three cuts in the median for the convenience of the villagers, but when the highway will become six-lane and the median will be closed, then the villagers and others living there will face huge difficulty in crossing the highway. Rao Narbir Singh informed Mr. Gadkari that the village Islampur has settled on either side of the highway and a large number of people have settled on both sides of the highway. He urged that in view of the interests of the villagers and others, approval should be given to an underpass to the village Islampur, which was approved by the Union Minister.
