Textile Park To Be Set Up In Farrukhabad, Himachal Pradesh
The Principal Secretary, MSME, Dr Navneet Sahgal, said that a Textile Park would be set up in Farrukhbad to promote textile industry in the state. He said that for this purpose 14 hectares land had been arranged. An investment of about Rs. 200 crore is proposed for this park, he added.
Dr. Sahgal was presiding over a meeting on the textile park in Lok Bhawan here today. He said that the park would not only promote textile industry, but also open new avenues of employment in the state. He asked the officers of the State Industrial Development Corporation to ensure early transfer of the acquired land in favour of the Textile Park by ensuring time bound disposal of hindrances coming in the way of land transfer.
The Principal Secretary said that he responsibility of developing and maintaining the textile park would be ensured under the special purpose vehicle (SPV). He said that 104 textile production units were functioning in Farrukhabad and 80 of them are ready for shifting to the park. Action is being taken for shifting of remaining units, he added.
