TCI Acquired A New Ship To Enhance Its Capacity In The West Coast Of India
TCI Seaways, a division of Transport Corporation of India Limited(TCI), announces capacity addition and business expansion of its domestic coastal shipping business through the acquisition of another vessel in the west coast of India.
TCI Seaways already has an existing capacity of 5 ships with a DWT of @ 37360. 3 ships are deployed on the eastern coast and 2 ships on the west coast.
The new ship with a DWT 26262 can hold 766 containers (TEUs & FEUs). Each container with a carrying capacity of 30 tonnes will be plying in the West -South coast corridor.
The total investment made in the acquisition of the new ship is approx. Rs.48.80 crs. The financing for this new ship has been done through internal accruals and loan from banks.
With this new induction, TCI Seaways will now operate 6 coastal ships covering the West, East and South coastal ports of India with a total DWT of 63622 and a fleet of 5500 containers. This acquisition is in line with the company's strategy to provide integrated multi-modal logistics services to its customers.
