Tamil Nadu To Ramp Up The Wind Power Capacity By 440 MW
Tamil Nadu is in the process of increasing wind power generation capacity to meet the renewable power obligation (RPO) norms prescribed by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission. In line with this, Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has given its approval to TANGEDCO for procurement of 440.64MW of wind power by floating tenders. The total wind power capacity of Tamil Nadu is 9,286 MW and out of this evacuation is only 5000 MW. As per TNERC instructions, the new tenders will be floated by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for TANGEDCO to comply the RPO for 2021-22.
