NLC Update On Neyveli New Thermal Power Project

NLC India Limited updates on the new thermal power unit. The 600 MW Thermal Power Station-I (TPS-I) is a vintage plant, which is in service for more than 50 years. A new plant, Neyveli New Thermal Power Project (NNTPP) of capacity 1000MW(2x500MW) is under implementation as the replacement plant for this TPS-1. The commissioning activities of NNTPP are in final stages of completion.
As a part of the phase-out process of Thermal Power Station-I(TPS-I) of NLCIL, Unit-7 with the capacity of 100 MW has been retired and the station generating capacity is reduced to 500 MW from the installed capacity of 600MW. Further phasing out activities of TPS-I Units will be scheduled in line with directives Central Pollution Control Board.
