Mercedes-Benz India Further Contributes To ‘Skill India’ Initiative
India’s largest luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, continues its contribution to the ‘Skill India’ initiative of Government, to develop highly skilled manpower for the automotive industry. The MOU was signed between Mercedes-Benz India- Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology, Noida and Krishna Institute of Engineering & Technology, Ghaziabad.
The ADAM Course will fulfill the requirement for superlative service in the automotive sector. The Mechatronics training center at Mercedes- Benz India produces skilled technicians and provides the industry with the much needed support of highly trained personnel. These courses have been conducted since 2006 in various government institutions in Pune, Aurangabad, Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. Trained a total of 500+ students through the Mechatronics course across these locations.
This year alone, Mercedes-Benz India has absorbed all the 80 students enrolled for this course at various Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India, the country’s largest luxury automobile brand today, reinforced its commitment towards Government’s ‘Skill India’ initiative by signing a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology and Krishna Institute of Engineering & Technology in Delhi. This is the first-ever tie-up of Mercedes-Benz India with any private institute in the country, and underlines the need to create new avenues towards developing key competencies among students, which is vital to adapt to the fast changing industrial requirements of the country today.
ADAM Course is Mercedes-Benz India’s unwavering commitment to contribute back to the society and we are extremely glad to have contributed to the Government’s ‘Skill India’ initiative. It is a one of its kind initiative in the industry and we are excited to expand it to private institutes in 2018. With the increasing use of technology in our sophisticated products, it is incumbent on us to upskill the current manpower with requisite engineering and technical know-how and to make them future ready. ADAM course is our successful initiative which has been consistently building these competencies and skills and positively benefits the young minds and the society at large. The Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) program is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by Mercedes-Benz India, which was propagated among students with the help of educational institutions. The Mechatronics training school at Mercedes-Benz India was started in the year 2006 with the aim of providing trained service personnel and engineers. To address this requirement, the parent company Daimler AG, Germany along with Mercedes-Benz India and the Mercedes-Benz India dealership network joined hands to start the program and train students to address the requirements of Mercedes-Benz technology and innovation. Only 20 students qualify to take the course per batch. Since its inception, over 500 students have successfully completed the program and have been placed within the Mercedes-Benz India dealership network. The Mechatronics program also provides support to Mercedes-Benz India’s state-of-the- art facility at Chakan, Pune.
