Foundation Stone Laid For Mega Food Park To Be Set Up By HAFED In Haryana
The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi laid the Foundation stone of Mega Food Park to be set up by HAFED at a cost of Rs.179.75 crore at Industrial Model Township (IMT), Rohtak.
The initiative of Mega Food Park at Rohtak was taken by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal to give momentum to the growth of the Food Processing Sector in Haryana and to generate employment and further to boost the income of the farmers of the State. Further supporting the move of Chief Minister, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India has approved Mega Food Park with the state of the art infrastructure facilities.
The primary objective of the Mega Food Park Scheme (MFPS) is to provide modern infrastructure facilities for the Food Processing along the value chain from the farm to the market. Under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, the government is focusing on boosting the Food Processing Industry so that agriculture sector grows exponentially and becomes the engine of growth to drive to ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Prime Minister.
This Mega Food Park at Rohtak, to be set up by HAFED is ideally located at IMT Rohtak on National Highway – 10, linking Delhi with Rohtak, spread across 50 acres and has 80 plots varying from 450 to 4050 sq. m in size. Units relating to Multi Crop processing line (Vegetable and Fruits), ready to eat food, spice processing and packaging, Oil extraction, canning, bakery, integrated milk processing/tetra packaging unit, Animal Feed Formulation units etc, can be set by investors in this Mega Food Park.
The basic infrastructure like roads, electricity, sewerage etc has already been developed at Mega Food Park, Rohtak and the process of commissioning the other facilities like Cold Storage, warehouse, Silos, Boiler etc. has been initiated by HAFED. As part of this project, three primary processing centres (PPCs) are also to be set up in District Yamuna Nagar, Sonepat and Sirsa.
