BHEL Commissions Two Hydro Power Generating Units In AP
State-possessed BHEL on Monday said it has authorized two units of Kameng Hydroelectric Project (HEP) in Arunachal Pradesh. Kameng HEP is a run-of-the river scheme which will use the stream from Bichom and Tenga rivers. "Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has effectively authorized two units of 4x150 mw Kameng Hydroelectric Project in Arunachal Pradesh," the state-possessed organization stated, including that "this is the biggest unit rating (150 mw) for hydro power producing sets in the territory of Arunachal Pradesh."
Being created by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO), the greenfield hydro project is located in West Kameng locale of Arunachal Pradesh. BHEL's scope in the project comprises design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of four 150 mw vertical francis turbines and coordinating synchronous generators, transformers, control and checking (SCADA) framework alongside related assistants. The gear have been provided by BHEL's assembling units at Bhopal, Jhansi, Rudrapur, and Bengaluru, while erection and dispatching nearby was completed by the organization's capacity area - eastern locale division, Kolkata.
